Clockmaker Digital was founded in 2009 as a production and post-production education and consulting firm, with an emphasis on emerging production technologies. The class "Digital Cinema: Red, Avid and Beyond" and corresponding course literature outlined the emerging technologies of 2k/4k Cameras and digital cinema acquisition. Experienced in building file-based production pipelines and in implementing dailies and editorial workflows, Clockmaker's founders serviced and advised on projects ranging from arthouse independents to studio feature films.

Clockmaker specializes in strategies for advanced workflow in digital production environments and can deliver supervision and solutions appropriate to the scale of any film, department, or production/post team.

In 2013, Clockmaker branched out into independent producing with their first film Diamond on Vinyl. After premiering at 2013 Slamdance Film Festival to great critical acclaim, the film went on to win several awards while on the festival circuit. Following its December 2013 release in the United States, Diamond on Vinyl was selected for several "Best of 2013" lists, including Hammer to Nail, Fandor, and Twitch Film, and is currently distributed in nearly 70 countries worldwide on the Sundance Channel.
